Projects/CMS/Igniting AIMA’s Global Vision Through CMS Website Revitalization
Founded in 1999 and based in Tianjin, China, AIMA is a leading global electric two-wheeler scooter manufacturer, maintaining the No. 1 position on the China Brand Power Index for several consecutive years.
Known for its innovation, advanced technology, and commitment to sustainable urban mobility, AIMA has built a reputation for producing stylish, high-performance electric two-wheelers that combine engineering precision with fashion-forward design - appealing to everyone from daily commuters to eco-conscious consumers.
With over 80,000 units sold, 30,000 retail outlets worldwide, and a team of more than 9000 employees, AIMA continues to expand its global footprint, prompting a strategic push to elevate its digital presence — focusing on B2B engagement and showcasing its brand culture, business philosophy, and technical strengths to drive international growth and conversions.
To bring this vision to life, AIMA enlisted IT Consultis (ITC) as a trusted partner to lead a bold digital transformation — revitalizing its global website to inspire, engage, and drive its next chapter of international growth.
The original website presented several opportunities for enhancement, especially as AIMA is seeking to better showcase its innovation, brand story, and technical leadership globally.
Thus, working as a team, our primary objectives of this website revamp project were to:
The roadmap was structured to align AIMA’s global marketing and branding visions with the global website design and development mission.
ITC acted as the Project Management Office coordinating with AIMA’s headquarters team in China, the global and regional teams, and other external vendors to ensure smooth collaboration and efficient execution at every stage of the project.
To establish clear communication and alignment from the start, ITC organized consultation sessions – covering design ideation and creative alignment.
Building on this foundation, we coordinated with AIMA's stakeholders to define and pinpoint the focus of key user segments — store retailers, online retailers, value-added partners, and distributors — ensuring a clearer understanding of their needs and preferences to craft more tailored solutions.
This was reinforced by comprehensive competitor research. We analyzed both their direct and indirect competitors in the region as well as drew inspiration from leading global brands’ websites — such as Apple, Huawei, Louis Vuitton, and Nio — to set benchmarks for user experience (UX), accessibility, conversion strategies, and branding.
In line with AIMA’s creative and branding team, the creative direction was centered around AIMA’s DNA, which is modern, stylish, and future-forward. Therefore, we adopted a sleek, fashion-inspired design so that the website would reflect the brand’s scale, ambition, and technological leadership.
To support long-term scalability and content flexibility, a hybrid design approach was adopted, combining both component-based design and hard-coding.
The component-based approach ensures consistent styling and faster updates, while hard-coding allows for precise control over specific design elements. This combination provides both flexibility and control in the development process, enabling smoother collaboration across ITC and AIMA teams.
To highlight the distinctiveness of AIMA’s key product series, we developed five detailed product pages. Each page is designed to highlight not only comprehensive product information and technical performance - emphasizing AIMA’s innovations - but also capture the lifestyle value and visual elegance.
To elevate the user experience, the interface was meticulously designed with custom creatives and interactive elements, focusing on the subtle details of each interaction. By carefully polishing transitions and micro-interactions between elements, we ensure smooth page scrolling and an engaging, dynamic feel, creating a seamless flow that enhances the navigation experience.
Additionally, media assets were upgraded with 2D image overlays, offering a more polished and informative product display.
As part of its global expansion journey, AIMA set its sights on Southeast Asia — with Vietnam and Indonesia as key first milestones.
Expanding into these diverse markets comes with a set of complex challenges — from maintaining a consistent global brand identity to managing multiple languages, coordinating content updates across regions, and scaling efficiently without duplicating effort. These demands can strain resources and complicate workflows if not addressed strategically.
To address these challenges, ITC recommended WordPress as the most suitable platform, leveraging its multi-language and multi-site capabilities to streamline content management, improve localization, and ensure scalability, while maintaining consistency across AIMA's global presence.
To enhance AIMA's distribution network and improve customer accessibility, we implemented two strategic call-to-action forms: “Become a Dealer” and “Find a Dealer”.
The goal was to reduce friction in two critical journeys: empowering business partners to onboard effortlessly, and helping end-users locate trusted sellers near them. These touchpoints were designed to turn interest into action — whether it’s expanding the sales network or shortening the path to purchase — strengthening both business growth and customer satisfaction.
To give AIMA more flexibility in how their content is managed and displayed, we implemented a headless architecture, enabling efficient content management, storage, and presentation on the front-end without impacting the back-end.
AIMA's global website is powered by WordPress as the Content Management System (CMS) for the back-end. Apart from WordPress's Multi Language, the following plugins were utilized for enhanced functionality:
On the front-end, we used React to deliver a fast, dynamic, and seamless user experience.
Together with the AIMA team, we successfully revamped their global website, enhancing user engagement and supporting AIMA’s ongoing international growth. As AIMA continues to evolve and reach new global markets, we look forward to building on this strong partnership — exploring new opportunities and co-creating future-ready solutions.
Stay tuned for ITC's upcoming projects and exciting collaborations with innovative companies in the industry!
