What You Will Get Out of This Position
As a Network Assistant Manager, your mission is to ensure the performance, stability, and security of our enterprise-wide network infrastructure. You will play a key role in deploying and managing SDWAN solutions across multiple locations while coordinating between local and regional IT teams. Your goal is to drive seamless connectivity, optimize network efficiency, and lead network-related projects from end to end.
Responsibilities
IT Network Project Management
- Lead the execution of local IT network projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and regional/global IT strategies.
- Collect business requirements and operational procedures from stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into technical network solutions and prioritize them effectively.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within scope.
Primary Network Point of Contact
- Act as the key liaison between local IT teams and regional/global infrastructure counterparts.
- Maintain seamless communication to ensure expectations, updates, and support requests are handled efficiently.
- Represent local network interests in cross-functional discussions and planning sessions.
SDWAN Design, Deployment & Configuration
- Plan and implement SDWAN networks using Huawei and Meraki platforms.
- Configure cloud-managed devices including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
- Set up VPN tunnels, implement High Availability (HA) designs, and apply Quality of Service (QoS) policies.
Network Monitoring & Maintenance
- Use cloud dashboards and monitoring tools to track the performance of Huawei & Meraki SDWAN network across all sites.
- Detect and proactively resolve issues like connectivity drops, latency, or bandwidth bottlenecks.
- Conduct regular tasks such as firmware upgrades, license renewals, device health checks, and patch management.
Troubleshooting & Incident Response
- Respond promptly to network issues or outages and conduct thorough root cause analyses.
- Work collaboratively with system administrators, cybersecurity, and other IT teams to resolve complex incidents.
- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions to contribute to the internal knowledge base.
Network Optimization
- Analyze traffic usage and performance trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Recommend and implement strategies such as bandwidth reallocation, traffic shaping, and application-aware routing.
- Continuously enhance the network setup to meet evolving business demands by stay up to date with latest advancement in Huawei & Meraki SDWAN technology and best practices
Network Security Enforcement
- Implement robust network security controls within the Huawei & Meraki SDWAN environment, including encryption, firewall configurations, and access restrictions.
- Monitor for network threats and respond to security incidents related to Central and perimeter infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecom Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Huawei network engineering or SDWAN deployment
- In-depth knowledge of Huawei & Meraki networking products including Huawei NetEngine AR router, Huawei CloudEngine switch, and Huawei AirEngine AP; Meraki MX router, Meraki MS switch, Meraki MR AP and Meraki MT sensor; and and cloud dashboards such as Huawei Cloud Management platform, and Cisco Meraki dashboard platform
- Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VXLAN)
- Familiarity with network security concepts and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Knowledge of cloud-based networking concept in interaction with SDWAN solutions
- Huawei HCIP (certified network professional) certification in SDWAN
- Experienced working in MNC enterprise network environment, handling complex networking topologies and diverse networking requirements
- Fluent English communication (spoken and written)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex, multi-site network issues
- Ability to communicate and work as a team cross-functional or regional
- Able to handle pressure and multi-task, ensure a timely and high quality delivery for network projects and maintenance activities
Nice-to-Have:
- Cisco CCNP certification with SDWAN focus
- PMP certification or strong project management experience
- Experience with multi-site enterprise networks in the Greater China region
