For AmCham, the first issue was the look and feel of the old website: it was simply outdated. As it had been left untouched for many years, it was not adhering to the best principles of web design of the past years. Secondly, there was an issue of having different departments of the Chamber to be represented on different platforms.
In total, there were 5 different platforms being used: their main page on Microsoft CMS, their Small to Medium Entrepreneurship site on a Drupal 7 site, their Articles and Resources page on WordPress and lastly two different Chapter sites on separate WordPress pages. Too many tools were used, hindering usability and manageability. It was a big challenge to unify all these sites under one platform.
The first step into the right direction was choosing the right partner for this project: many of our clients are members of the Chamber; therefore, the decision makers of AmCham could hear truly unbiased feedbacks on our work and made a well-informed choice.
Secondly, we helped them select Drupal 8 as the most suitable Content Management software, unifying all previous platforms, while React was chosen for the front-end. Back-end and front-end are connected via API which uses a custom module built by our team. Thanks to this module, all the different content types, taxonomies, and menus created on Drupal are exposed. This ensures that a front-end developer is actually free to process many changes without actually accessing the back-end; for example, he can fetch partial data, or filter a list of content, choose in which format an image should be displayed, or even can use Drupal search functionality.
Furthermore, we created an API with Event Bank, a CRM tool. This connection ensures that AmCham has powerful tools to manage their website in complete autonomy.
Last but not least, we designed and developed a complete revamp of their websites to create something that is not only stunning, but also user friendly and easy to use.
The final result is a website that not only looks better in every single way, but also improves the usability of the whole ecosystem. We are happy to say that the client perceived our work as outstanding, and are very satisfied with the website that was delivered. This is what Kenneth Jarrett, President of AmCham, thinks about the website and cooperation with IT Consultis:
“We wanted a website that was modern, user-friendly and easy to maintain, and IT Consultis delivered against all these objectives. With the support of IT Consultis, we took a big leap into the modern digital era and now have a website that is mobile friendly and easier for us to manage. We would recommend IT Consultis to others with similar needs.”
We are very happy and proud to have helped AmCham. The design is nicely created and implemented, the site runs like a charm. It is incredibly user-friendly, both in the front-end and in the back-end. Performance of the website is truly impressive, showcasing the capabilities of using React in combination with Drupal. We are truly confident that, thanks to this new website, AmCham can continue deliver the same high-quality services to their members in the future years.
